Silkworm Star is such a good story — it builds layer by layer, every chapter brings something new. It is great fun and genuinely deep, nothing like the usual alien-story formula! 🪱

I keep waiting for an ending to The Eighth Notebook. Its future is wide open — anything that follows logically could be the ending. I love the world you have built, and I am glad I got to see it. 🌌

I read a lot of fiction, especially imaginative science fiction. But I am picky: if the logic breaks against what I know about the world, I cannot get past it, and I cannot stand mannered prose either. This was a lucky year — picky as I am, I found your writing and read several of your stories. My favourite is Silkworm Star; the passage explaining why the planet is never dug open has stayed with me. Then She Didn’t Mean To — I love the premise that the Earth itself is alive. I think of myself as a human, the most intelligent thing on this planet; but who knows what something from outside would make of us? 🪙
